Our FVH Family...
DR. DIANA R. MEANS, DVM - Veterinarian/Owner
Dr. Means was born and raised a country girl in Fayette County. Her interest in veterinary medicine stems from her involvement in showing horses in 4-H as a child. At the young age of four, she told her parents, I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up! Unlike most kids, she never changed her mind.
Dr. Means completed 4 years of undergraduate studies, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences and graduating Magna Cum Laude at West Virginia University. She then completed 1 year of non-degree graduate studies at West Virginia University before attending Veterinary School. Dr. Means obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2006 from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine after 4 years of intensive studies. Upon graduation Dr. Means spent 5 ½ years practicing small animal medicine and surgery at Delmont Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Means then joined Laurel Highlands Animal Health for 8 short months prior to purchasing Fayette Veterinary Hospital from Dr. Stevenson in July 2012.
Dr. Means resides with her husband and their two spoiled cats Ruger and Winchester. In her spare time she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. Being true to her country roots, Dr. Means participates in tractor pulling events alongside her husband.

PRINCESS PHANTOM - Clinic Kitty/Patient Care Specialist
Princess Phantom joined our Fayette Veterinary Family, unexpectedly, in the summer of 2013. She journeyed her way through the woods and fields of Newell for many days and many nights before wandering into Fayette Veterinary Hospital's back yard. The sly black cat first introduced herself to a technician she found outside...it was love at first sight! At that moment in time, Princess Phantom chose Fayette Veterinary Hospital as her "forever home". Knowing she had to persuade Dr. Means, like a "phantom in the night" she sneaked through the front door alongside a client during evening appointments, and pranced around the waiting room like she already owned the place! After a few rubs against Dr. Means' legs, she secured her new home and earned the name "Princess Phantom".
Princess Phantom takes pride in being part of the Fayette Veterinary Family. Proving to be fearless by greeting even the biggest dog who crossed her path, she earned the position of "Patient Care Specialist". Her job duties at Fayette Veterinary Hospital include: Comforting hospitalized patients by keeping them company with her presence, medical record keeping as she lies on computer keyboards to assist staff when typing, and, of course, she fulfills the duties of a staff psychotherapist!
In her spare time, Princess Phantom enjoys playing with her stuffed mice, cuddling with her family and napping in her many comfy beds located throughout the hospital!
